Ryde

Ryde is a ferry port and resort on the north coast of the Isle of Wight. The island, a couple of miles off the mainland cities of Portsmouth and Southampton, has since Victorian times lived the life of a holiday isle. So much so that the monarch herself (Queen Victoria) adopted it as her holiday home in the 19th century.
